well it ain't Florida, but it has a nice little beach, with 'safe' swimming' boundaries, but i like the privacy and BBQ area and its kept pretty clean and frankly not having hordes of teenagers everywhere is a real blessing. u can come here in winter and it's beautiful too, just walk along the shore and see how the edges freeze, easy trails to walk... picturesque.

Beautiful views, clear water, clean bathrooms, large beach area. Also has a fun area to see neat rocks.
There are several portions to this park including Lanier Park. The trick is finding the one you like best. Once you pay the park fee you can visit each entrance to find a good spot with table and grill for the afternoon. If you arrive before 11 am on Sunday you could almost have your pick. Each park is on Buford Dam Rd and each has a beach area for swimming. We had a lovely day and cooked some good food on the grill on the site. No pets are allowed at any of these parks.
Good option for outing with kids. A small beach, playgrounds and lots of nature. Come prepared with water toys, tubes, mats, swimwear and lots of food. have fun!! But watch out there are no life guards!!
