My husband and I have been shopping here for over 25 years. I love the fact that it's family owned. They always greet us with a smile and ask how we are doing. Joe, the customer service person has always been very helpful, kind and considerate. Ace is, and always has been, our favorite hardware store. I especially like the unusual gardening lights they carry. They always have things that I don't see anywhere else. My husband likes the advice on how to repair things. Great family owned business.

I also have had several less than satisfactory propane refills. Mine are 30# forklift tanks. The fill results and fill amounts are very inconsistent. I typically have to argue with who ever is doing the fill that they're doing it incorrectly. This most recent fill, the Ace employee was filling it through the outlet port (the connection that connects to the forklift) rather than the fill port/ball valve. Also, he opened the bleeder valve during filling, but liquid propane never came out. You see liquid when the tank is FULL, simple physics folks. I told him when he was "done" and disconnecting that it wasn't a full fill, and he responded back with "I think I know how to fill a propane tank". I responded back to that that if he knew how to properly then the scale would indicate 66.6lbs. 36.6 lbs. tare tank weight for the steel tank + 30 lbs of propane equal 66lbs. not 58.1 lbs. I weighed the tank with an industrial scale before arriving also, it wasn't quite empty yet, but needed a top off for some upcoming work. It weighed in at 43.6lbs. Ace pumped in 14.5 lbs and argued that the tank was full...Would someone there that knows what they're doing please instruct your people how to do things properly and not rip off the customer?

This is regarding the Buford location. They do dishonest business regarding their propane refills. They have poor customer service They try to charge you for a full refill and state they don't do top offs. They have no policy regarding this for customer viewing. I filled 2 tanks this morning and 1 this afternoon. This afternoons refill I expressed that I was overcharged for the morning fills and told them for the current fill the meter and the store representative told me it took 5 gallons. I told them I would willingly pay for my 5 gallons but not be overcharged for a full fill when my tank didn't require it. The manager said this was policy and I asked where it was visible or displayed for the customers and they said it wasn't. I indicated they had a price per gallon on my morning receipt and could charge me the price per gallon and applicable taxes. If they didn't want to take my money for the product I was purchasing then I'd gladly leave with my tank. At that point the manager tried to detain my tank but it was already in my truck. I again stated I would gladly pay for what I received but expected honest business. The manager stated they didn't have time to measure what everyone receives, I explained that is why there is a meter on the tank outside and they just have to know where the meter starts and stops unless their employees can't count to 20. The manager at that point exclaimed and raised his voice saying I was ripping him off and to take my tank and get out. I again offered to pay for what I received and still yelling at me told me "get out I don't want your business you got your tank and what you wanted".

Marty is the best there is when it comes to your lawn ! They have everything for you ! Marty will take them time to sell you the right tool ! Very outstanding customer service for Over 10 year's now ! Very nice store ! Great job but they need to open the other register some days they get very busy

We had our lawnmower serviced by S&S Ace Hardware in Buford last week. I wanted to write a review to personally thank the team over at S&S for their great work. My mower came back fixed at a lower price than I expected and works like new. It actually mowed my lawn much better than it had in a few years lol. Not only did they repair it, but they washed it and it looked brand new when I picked it up. Thanks to the repair team at S&S. If you need a mower tune up or repair, don't hesitate to trust this family owned local business.
