The reviews you read about this place are accurate, unfortunately. There is trash everywhere! The fire pit was full of trash. Glass littered the site and trash was all in the woods.
After reading the reviews I was very worried before I left to camp at this campground. Having done yearly camping at places before I do know some weekends can be horrible. All it takes is to be stuck next to some loud and obnoxious campers to ruin a weekend. We reserved 3 sites 4,5,6 and while they show being really worn down the views are incredible. Each site had its issues like being very narrow, uneven, or awkward but I made my 39' fifth wheel work with 4 slide outs. Leaving the campground there is one tree that needs to be removed and I got pretty close to it but got out fine. It did get a bit noisy on Friday night but its so close to town kids driving around with loud cars could be heard even if they were not in the campground. At least in my camper just turned the air on with the TV and fell right asleep. The campsite did have a sketchy picnic table but I have seen worse or nothing at all. Its not KOA and the price is a bit high for the lack of upkeep. We did not use their bathrooms but I have yet to find a lot of campgrounds that have really well kept bathrooms. We did have some people rudely come in and fish in front of our site while they chain smoked cigarettes. That was probably the worst thing we had so I count it as a good trip all in all. Like someone else suggested I would not drive in while its dark if you have a big camper. The road in my loop was not bad so don't know where the issues with pot holes is related to.
Site is poorly maintained and supervision for compliance is non existent. We had to move our entire campsite after first night next to a large group of campers that had a dog barking all night, bright lights flashing on our site all night, and loud music. We were allowed to move the next day only to find our next site littered with trash and two full bags of trash left in site parking space. We were comp'd one night of our stay but after 2-weeks we've yet to get refund due to "IT" issues. In addition our new site had a large tree that was partially fallen and leaning on other tree that posed a true danger and we didn't see it until we had set up our camp for second time. And finally we had to break up a party with cars gathered and loud music at the restroom bldg that popped up at midnight. BTW those restrooms were in very poor shape with one toilet unable to flush. I highly recommend avoiding this camp site! Corp of Engineers campsites on Lake Lanier are far superior to this one.
While we were looking at sites, a guy wondered up and starting relieving himself just off the road - with virtually no tree cover!
There are a lot of ants here. Which I mention only because I am highly allergic and have to spray myself and the area I'll be sitting. But then again...it IS the woods sooooo
I had my 3 day glamping trip here last year and it was amazing. Staff and ground workers were very accommodating. Bathroom and showers where really clean. Very peaceful and quiet at night. Overall great experience!!!
I love it here. We camp here about one weekend a month. It's peaceful, scenic, and there are deer everywhere! There are decent shower houses and bathrooms and the staff are great.
The pads are crumbling at the edges and are super small. The restrooms were awful and had black mold in the showers. I can’t say we have ever seen a dirtier, trashier campground, and it’s too bad, because the property could be just beautiful.
